Microneedling

Microneedling (also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy) is a useful tool that inspires new collagen growth relying on our skin’s unique ability to heal itself. Small, micro punctures are made with tiny needles which trigger new collagen production, leaving behind supple, more youthful-looking skin.

Microneedling is Minimally-Invasive Treatment Option

This minimally invasive treatment is generally performed by dermatologists, trained aestheticians, aesthetic physicians and can even be done using a dermaroller at home. However, we do recommend having a trained professional from Innova Wellness Spa perform the procedure. Out team members have been professionally trained to give you the best results and decrease the risk of potential side effects.

How Microneedling Works

The tiny needles involved in microneedling create microscopic channels in the skin, which jumpstart the body’s own natural healing processes, inspiring new collagen and elastin growth in the process. Collagen is a vital protein that helps give our skin structure and elasticity, acting as a net that holds our skin cells together and in place. Naturally, as we age, collagen starts to break down. As a matter of fact, once a person gets to age 20, their collagen production rate will drop by at least 1% every year thereafter.

Microneedling Benefits

Microneedling consistently and effectively yields the following benefits for our patients:

  • Clears away fine lines and reduces deep wrinkles
  • Reduction of visible scars
  • Reverses photo-damage and hyperpigmentation
  • Helps slow or reverse the aging process
  • Shrinks enlarged pores
  • Enhances the effect of skin care products that you already use

Microneedling can be done all over the body and isn’t just exclusive to the face. Any area of the body with skin that needs repair can benefit from the procedure, especially areas affected by acne scars or stretch marks, including:

  • The legs
  • Chest area
  • Back
  • Buttocks

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Most of our patients experience undeniable results in 4-6 microneedling sessions or less. If you have problem areas when it comes to your skin and complexion, we have solutions. There’s also very little downtime associated with microneedling. You might experience redness that looks like a mild sunburn for around 24 hours after your treatment. Your skin will start to flake after a day or two as dead cells slough off the skin, revealing a brighter, smoother complexion underneath.
