Hair Transplant

Male or female pattern baldness, known as androgenic alopecia, is a disheartening issue that affects millions of individuals each year. Hair is a defining facet of the body. When you begin to lose it, your perception of yourself and how others perceive you can be altered. Your once youthful days of a full head of hair can change to an aged image of gradually thinning or complete hair loss.

It’s no secret that when people begin to lose their hair, they will do anything they can to prevent it from happening. Perhaps, you have been in this position and have tried many methods to prevent further hair loss. Maybe you’ve been attempting those wonder shampoos and pills that claim to prevent hair loss but have been disappointed in their results, making your hair loss prevention feel like an uphill battle with no end in sight. Don’t be disappointed anymore – let the anxiety of losing your hair dwindle by having a hair transplant.

Types of Hair Transplant

A hair transplant is a procedure that requires a team of professionals to ensure it is a success.

There are two main types of hair transplants, both requiring different techniques. One of our hair transplant specialists will review these two techniques with you during your initial hair transplant consultation and help you decide which will fit your needs. These two hair transplant techniques are:

FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation)
This method is also known as the strip harvesting technique. A strip of hair is removed via incisions during the procedure, and the scalp is stitched close. The strip is then dissected into groups of follicles, which are transplanted onto the scalp where balding is noticeable. While FUT will leave a scar, our team will do everything possible to minimize its appearance. Including careful attention to the extraction of the strip, to laser treatment of the scare or microneedling to improve its appearance. In most cases this can be easily hidden for a full natural look.

FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)
FUE is quickly becoming a popular means for hair transplants. The procedure requires a shorter recovery and is a less invasive procedure than FUT. FUE involves removing each follicle unit individually, allowing your hair transplant specialists to spread out the areas for harvesting follicles. The procedure requires micro incisions, so there is minimal risk for significant scarring. Most patients prefer FUE over FUT because it doesn’t involve taking a strip of the skin. However, the sites where follicle units are harvested may leave small dots, but these will be covered with hair.

At Innova wellness spa, our team uses utilizes one of the most advanced systems available today. The HAARTS (Human Assisted Automated Rapid Transplant System) by I-Brain Robotics is renowned as one of the fastest, safest and least invasive hair transplant system available. The system is incredibly unique because two hair transplant providers can harvest hair follicles simultaneously, drastically decreasing the time it takes to harvest the follicles and less time between harvest and implantation.

Candidates for a Hair Transplant

A hair transplant is an ideal procedure for men or women struggling with their appearance due to their lack of hair. A hair transplant can be performed on the top of the head and the eyebrows, beard, and mustache as well.

The procedure is well suited for men and women with the following:

Thinning hair
Pattern baldness

Some contraindications can prevent you from having the procedure. For a hair transplant to be a successful procedure, candidates should have enough hair on their scalp that can work as donor sites for harvesting. The procedure can also not be performed on the scalp if a keloid scar is present or your hair loss is due to medications such as chemotherapy. Our hair transplant specialist will review your hair loss concerns and medical history during an initial consultation to ensure candidacy.

The Hair Transplant Procedure

Your hair transplant procedure will begin with your scalp being thoroughly cleansed. Your specialist will then use a small needle to numb the area with local anesthesia. Your procedure process depends on which technique you choose to undergo. The process for the two techniques are:
